It turned out Max was sicker than we thought. Nothing too major. He had an ear infection, but NOW he is back to normal. Really...I mean it this time. He is fine. He is also standing on his own more and more (without furniture support), but still refuses to take that first step. Tonight we could have sworn he said 'again'. I wound up one of his bath toys, handed it to him, and when it ran out he handed it back to me and said 'again'. So, I wound it up again. They say the word 'again' alot on Boohbah and Teletubbies (which he watches, but I do not!),so it's possible.

On friday I got my latest english essay back and scored an A! I was seriously shocked and happy, of course. I was expecting in the C to D range. Sometimes you surprise yourself I guess.

Saturday I went to a six hour seminar on physics to prepare for the mid-term exam this week and it was extremely helpful. In fact it is almost pointless going to the lectures now, because I can barely understand the professor.

Tomorrow is another Biolgy mid-term...wednesday is chemistry...and thursday is physics. All the exams are at night and we have regular classes during the day, so I've got some long days ahead of me.

Life otherwise is proceeding as per usual. My sister just wrote her dental hygiene entrance exam and will know if she's accepted to school at the end of april. She is in ontario, though, so we won't be going to school together. :-( Actually, it's possible I could end up going to school in ontario, but highly unlikely.

I am currently watching the oscars on tv. Morgan Freeman won best supporting actor. He is a really good actor and deserved it, but I was pulling for Alan Alda. I've liked him ever since the MASH days. Shawna and I had the pleasure of seeing him in a play when we went to New York 8 years ago. 8 years ago! Holy crap! Where has the time gone? We also recently saw him on TV in the movie 'Same Time, Next Year', which was pretty good, too. So, I'm on an Alan Alda kick right now.

For those of you wondering...Bernard Hopkins won his fight...Next big fight looks to be James Toney vs. John Ruiz (heavyweight championship) which will be in the next few months. Stay tuned.

Spring Break is over. :-(

Max has been sick pretty much all week, so he's been staying home with me. He's had a fever and cough, but has been improving. Unfortunately this means I haven't done nearly as much studying as I was planning. Oh well...kids. At least he is feeling better.

I just got back from the DAT (dental aptitude test) which is 33% of the determining factor of admission to dental schools. It did not go well. But, like I said, this is just a tune up for the november test. The first thing we did was the carving dexterity test and within the first 5 minutes I screwed that up. I immediately began carving the example model I have at home instead of the 'new' model they provided. I realized this pretty quickly, but it was still too late. At least the pressure was off from that point on. Next was the Biology/Chemistry exam which sucked as I expected, but I will kick its ass in november. Then came the Perceptual Ability Test which went well and finally the Reading comprehension test which started off good and progressed to bad by the end. So, an interesting day. Even though my score will be low, it was worth it to get an idea of what to expect for next time.

For all you boxing fans...Bernard Hopkins makes his 20th middleweight title defense tonight. Check it out.

One more week to spring break! I can't wait to spend a week lying around in sunny Portage! ...okay, maybe it's not everyone's dream vacation, but I'll take it!

School news...

Latest English essay results...B...I will take that one and RUN! As you know, I hate essays, so a B or better is fine with me.

Latest Psychology exam results...A+ (93%)...Obviously very happy with this one. Especially considering I thought the exam was a week later than it actually was and I didn't find out about it until 2 days before it happened!

My biology, physics, and chemistry exams are at the end of feb and beginning of march. They will be much harder than english and psychology.

Home news...

Not too much. Max is good. Shawna is good. The weather is okay (its winter in manitoba). We took Max for his first 'swim' at a hotel in winnipeg this weekend. Wow, did he hate it!! It was not a good scene at all! As soon as I handed him to Shawna in the pool it was all over. Wouldn't stop crying until he was out. I guess he's not a water person. Neither am I. I can't swim, yet, so if somebody put me in a pool that I couldn't touch the bottom in, I'd probably cry, too. He was more comfortable in the kiddie pool, but not enjoying it either. Oh well, we gave it a shot!
