Hey! Not much going on for the past week. Same old same old, y'know? Except for Max being sick, that is. He was really congested and breathing hard last tuesday night. We took him to the hospital 4 times over the next 2 days. They needed to put a mask on him and give him some ventolin to help clear him up. Thankfully, it seems to have cleared up. He never slowed down the whole time, though.

English essay will be back tomorrow. Shouldn't be good. I took a practice DAT (dental aptitude test) on the weekend and didn't do too hot. However, it was midnight and I was answering the questions as fast as I could, because I was tired and wanted to go to bed. There was alot of biology/chemistry questions where I didn't know what they were talking about simply because we haven't taken the stuff, yet. So, what do I take from this? Not much. Like I said before, the february test is just a tune-up for november.

Last week the university had a bunch of keynote speakers come in and I had the pleasure of listening to some stories from Bob Ezrin. For those of you who don't know...Bob Ezrin helped create Alice Cooper and produced around a dozen of his albums. He also produced some Pink Floyd including 'The Wall'...Kiss' 'Destroyer'...and Peter Gabriel's first solo album. So, that was interesting. I asked him why it is so difficult for these guys to get current radio play when they are still doing great stuff and he responded that 'radio is crap these days'. And I had to agree. Any new stuff on the radio sounds the same as all the rest. He further said that that is the reason for decreasing cd sales...not downloading. Anyway, it was interesting.

That's it. Later.

It's been two weeks since my last post! But, I have a good excuse. Last weeekend Shawna and I were sick. Really sick. Max wasn't doing too hot either, but not nearly as bad as we got. We both woke up about an hour apart on thursday night and it was all downhill from there. We never made it to work/school on friday and weren't feeling better until sunday. It's all over now, though!

So, during that time we got a package of toys sent to us from my sister's brother-in-law and his family! Isn't that great of them? Their kids had outgrown them, so they were kind enough to send them to us! And, of course, Max is loving them all! Many thanks go out to them!

School wise...I completed my third english essay. I hate writing essays. Have I mentioned that? It is a comparison of the circumstances of forgivenss in the plays "The Tempest" and "The Importance of Being Earnest". Intriguing, isn't it?! Maybe you've seen the "Earnest" movie...that's the first thing I did when I found out we had to read it. I DID also read the play, though! They are slightly different. Otherwise, I've just been plugging away. Looking forward to spring break! Feb.14-18!! Oh, I also have my Dental Aptitude Test on Feb. 19th. It consists of a carving dexterity test (we have to carve shapes out of soap!), perceptual ability test, reading ability/comprehension test, and a biology/chemistry exam. I'm not expecting much because I'm only halfway through the biology and chemistry courses at school. However, there is another test next november that I can take if I do horribly on this one. So, I'm not too worried about it. I'm mostly taking this one to just get an idea of what I'll have to do in the november test. But, who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky and do really well!

That's about it. Shawna and Max are well. We took him out in a sled today for the first time. He seemed to enjoy that. Still no walking.

Later.

Hey Everybody!

Not much new this week. I went back to school...Max went back to his babysitters (unwillingly)...and Shawna went back to work after her mini new years break.

School is fine so far. I'm doing alot more of the assigned readings so far in an effort to get everything to sink in better. So far, so good.

Shawna had a little wipe out in the car last week and ended up in the ditch. No one was hurt and the car was fine. She wasn't going very fast due to the conditions and there were plenty of people around to help out, which was nice.

Max continues to manouver around the furniture, but hasn't taken his first steps away from it yet. Yesterday he had a doctor's appointment and weighed in at 26 pounds! Boom! He is also doing alot more immitating and babbling.

That's the story! Give me a shout if you haven't recently...you know who you are!

Happy Frickin' New Year! I'm trying to keep it clean...I'm a dad y'know. Shawna's sister and brother-in-law were kind enough to get us tickets to a new year's party for christmas, so that is where we were last friday night. It was a pretty good time. We hadn't done a new years eve party for quite a few years, so when the countdown began it was kind of funny. You know...3...2...1...It's the next day!!!! Hurray!!!! I never really 'got' new years. Just an excuse to party I guess. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Today Shawna and I got into winnipeg on our own and went to a movie. We saw Ocean's 12 and I can't really recommend it. Too many holes and not much new in this one. And I'm normally someone who will overlook the little things and just enjoy the movie, so you know it wasn't great.

What else...we did get to see our old dog, the Rock, last week! He and his new family were visiting my sister, so I dropped by to see him. And he remembered me! In fact he was going a little crazy with excitement! The kids from his new family had never seen him that excited before. So, I borrowed him for about an hour and took him home to see Shawna and Max. He went crazy again with Shawna, inspected our entire apartment as quickly as possible, then jumped up onto the arm of the couch where he used to sleep and curled up like he'd never been gone! It was pretty fun for us. If you're interested there are pics of this and more up on the epson website.

Some of you may have heard or know about the insane amount of show we've gotten in the last 3 days. I think it's between 30-35cms. Something ridiculous like that. So, the last few days I've had alot of fun shoveling the driveway. Calgary...I miss you.

2 more days off until school starts again. I've really enjoyed the time off, but didn't nearly get everything done I wanted to. I had grand plans of reading ahead in textbooks and getting a huge jump on this term, but you know how it is. Christmas, Max, and some good old fashioned laziness conspired against me. But, I do still have 2 days right!?!?

That's it for now. Hope you all had a nice holiday!
